This week, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple is “looking into” user reports of the iPhone 3G experiencing lags and crashes when updated to iOS 4.
Users of the iPhone 3G that have updated to iOS 4 will not be strangers to the complete device slow down.
At the Apple support pages, numerous discussion boards have been raging with users experiencing slow system responsiveness, battery drains, and overheating with their iPhone 3G on iOS 4.
With the WSJ reporting that Apple may release a possible fix in the future, this brings new hope to iPhone 3G owners.
There are also many complaints that the phone drains the battery quickly and becomes excessively hot. Concern about general problems such as slowness and battery life on gadgets isn’t unusual, but using iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G seems to make the problems so bad that the phone is nearly unusable for some people.
Apple recently began seeding a beta of iOS 4.1 (currently at beta 2), which has been reported to address many of the issues that iPhone 3G users are experiencing. At this time, iOS 4.1 seems to be the logical way to patch the iPhone 3G problems, unless Apple is looking to release another 4.0.x release.
