Apple Gearing Up For An ‘Exciting’ September With iPhone 5 & Smaller iPad Launch

According to sources in the Taiwanese supply chain (via CNET), Apple is preparing for an exciting upcoming September this year that will see the launch of iPhone 5 as well as the widely rumored iPad Mini. The report points out Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White’s meeting with his contacts in the supply chain, quoting him saying that Apple is set to have an ‘exciting’ September. He specifically said that next-generation iPhone as well as an  iPad Mini will be revealed at Apple’s September event. However, he didn’t provide any concrete details on what the devices might look like.

According to the source:

Speculation abounds over when Apple might finally launch the iPhone 5 and the long-rumored iPad Mini. Conventional wisdom puts the iPhone 5 launch date at October. The latest word on the iPad Mini’s launch date has been narrowed only to the second half of 2012.

However, at this point, there’s no telling for sure that either product exists, so any speculation on a release date should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

The source has also contacted Apple for comment on White’s statements, though there hasn’t been any official word yet. Hopefully we’ll learn a bit more about Apple’s plans next week at the WWDC 2012.

Edit: The September
