World Wide Jailbreak Convention Hits San Francisco Sept 29, 2012

Each year, Apple holds the WWDC (World Wide Developer’s Conference), to get the developers together and show off some new products that are soon to be released. Well, the jailbreak community has started getting their developers together to share ideas and celebrate the modding/hacking community. The WWJC (World Wide Jailbreak Convention) comes to San Francisco on September 29th, 2012.

The WWJC started last year, under the name “My Great Fest”, then changed to “JailbreakCon”, and was overwhelmingly popular. This year the organizers have arranged a bigger, better venue, right in San Francisco. WWJC 2012 will be held at the South San Francisco Conference Center.

Some of the announced speakers are Jay Freeman (@saurik, Creator of Cydia), members of the Chronic Dev Team, (@p0sixninja and @iOPK), as well as Canadian jailbreak developer Ryan Petrich (@rpetrich), creator of many jailbreak staples, including Activator. Some of these speakers will have booths set up, so you can meet and greet the folks who have helped change your iDevice into something Apple won’t.

Here is the official announcement:

We are delighted to confirm the date, locality and venue for the 2012 JailbreakCon event. After careful consideration and exploring all of the options we have decided that WWJC should be where it belongs, in the home of technology. The South San Francisco Conference Center will become the home of the first ever JailbreakCon event on American soil and we are delighted to be bringing this exciting event to San Francisco.

Ticket pricing has not been announced, but if you are planning on going to the 2012 WWJC, book your flights and hotels soon!
