2018 MacBook Pro Cracking Audio, Kernel Panic Issues Fixed in Supplemental Update

Apple released macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Supplemental Update 2 for new 2018 MacBook Pro owners yesterday, and now we know more specifics on what this update addresses.

The release notes yesterday only specified it “improves the stability and reliability of MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (2018) computers, and is recommended for all users.”

But now, Apple has confirmed to MacRumors more details on what it addresses, such as previously reported crackling audio and kernel panic issues:

Apple said the Supplemental Update improves system stability and reliability across a number of areas, and addresses several issues, including crackling audio and kernel panics.

Some users on the MacRumors forums confirmed the update did fix their crackling audio and kernel panic issues.

Apple’s latest 2018 MacBook Pro line up gained a refresh last month with updated Intel processors, plus a redesigned butterfly keyboard.

The macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Supplemental Update can be found within the Updates tab of the Mac App Store, and it’s highly recommended 2018 MacBook Pro owners install it.
