Early 2013 Refreshed 13-inch, 15-inch Retina MacBook Pros Benchmarked
Just last week Apple refreshed their 13-inch and 15-inch Retina MacBook Pros with faster processors and also lowered their prices. Primate Labs has collected and released Geekbench 2 benchmark scores for these refreshed laptops. Let’s take a look at what the performance gains are if you can’t decide what to buy.
15-inch Retina MacBook Pro – each model received a 100 MHz processor speed bump with new processors
As you can see in the chart above, scored received gains of 3-5% based on the processor speed bump. Primate Labs notes the new mid-range MBP is a bit slower than the older high-end model, but is due to the fact the latter’s processor has a larger cache.
13-inch Retina MacBook Pro – each model received a 100 MHz processor speed bump, thanks to new (found in the 256GB models) and old processors
The chart for the 13-inch models show similar gains of 3-5% in performance. If you’ve been waiting to purchase a Retina MacBook Pro, this latest refresh and price drop makes it the right time to buy.
