Amazon Canada Releases 2021 Impact Report

Amazon Canada has just released its 2021 Impact Report, which shares the latest data regarding its local operations and activities. 2021 also marks the 10-year anniversary of the launch of Amazon’s first Canadian fulfilment centre.

The report highlights Amazon’s latest workforce growth in Canada, which has now reached 39,500 employees, including 3,500 at the Vancouver Tech Hub and 2,000 at the Toronto Tech Hub. The company’s growing footprint now includes more than 65 locations stretching from coast to coast.

In 2020 Amazon donated more than $10 million to charities focused on “Right Now Needs,” such as food, shelter, and basic goods for children and families, and computer science education for underserved and
underrepresented students.

Charities supported by Amazon include the Breakfast Club of Canada and the organizations affiliated with Amazon Future Engineer, including Canada Learning Code, Kids Code Jeunesse, TakingITGlobal, and FIRST Robotics.
