Amazon Canada Launches Grocery and Auto Stores, Adds Over 215,000 Items

Amazon.ca announced today it has launched new grocery and auto stores, to further add more products to its growing catalogue:

“Amazon.ca dramatically increased our selection this year, and we are pleased to now bring the Auto and Grocery stores to our customers,” said Alexandre Gagnon, country manager for Amazon.ca. “We’re working to deliver an unmatched selection of everyday essentials and must-have products. With just a few clicks, customers can discover millions of items, take advantage of free shipping or Free Two Day Shipping with Amazon Prime, and have items delivered to their doorstep.”

The new dry grocery section carries over 15,000 items from major brands such as Campbell’s Soup, Nestle, Pepsi, Kellogg, Green Mountain and more. You’ll be able to find pantry items for baking, coffee and tea items, drinks, soups, cereals, pastas, snacks, baby food and even flowers.

Amazon Canada has grown its product categories to more than double in 2013, with the latest stores being Office, Toys, Grocery and Auto. The company has ramped up its focus in Canada this year, with the launch of Amazon Prime, the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle ebook store, plus more recently the new Kindle Fire HDX tablets.

Amazon’s mobile iOS app was updated back in February to support Canada—which means you can now go wild and shop straight from your iPhone.
