Amazon Prime Video will debut its exclusive movie Greenland, starring Gerard Butler (Angel Has Fallen) and Morena Baccarini (Deadpool), in Canada on February 5, 2021.

The American disaster-thriller sees a family fight for survival “as a planet-killing comet races to Earth,” says the synopsis:

John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being levelled by the comet’s fragments, the Garrity’s experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.

Greenland was originally set to release in theatres in 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19. The film’s streaming rights were picked up by HBO and Amazon last fall, to be released on HBO Max in the U.S., while Amazon Prime Video will stream the film in Canada, the UK and Australia, the company tells iPhone in Canada.
