Amazon Canada today has announced an all-new Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablets, offering updates over predecessors and available for pre-order today, with shipping starting June 3, in time for summer.
The new tablet now includes a 2.0 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, increased storage of 32GB or 64GB (expandable to 1TB via microSD), up to 12 hours of mixed-use battery life, USB-C charging and also a Game Mode which disables notifications. Amazon says the Fire HD 8 is now 30% faster than before.
The all-new Fire HD 8 is available for $109.99 in white, black or blue, or a two-pack bundle for $199.98 (or $99.99 each; save $20). Cases are available in Twilight Blue, Charcoal Black, Sandstone White, and Plum for 39.99.

The Kids version of the Fire HD 8 has 32GB of storage, with an option to expand up to 1TB via microSD, a kid-proof case in pink or blue, a two-year worry-free replacement guarantee and also one year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, which offers free apps, content and more for kids.
