Amazon’s Whole Foods 20% Price Cut on Select Groceries Applies to Canada, Too [u]

Amazon-owned Whole Foods Market announced on April 1st it was planning to discount hundreds of items in its U.S. stores on average of 20% off on Wednesday, April 3rd.

Now, it appears this 20% off sale on select grocery items will also apply to the 14 Whole Foods Market locations in Canada.

CBC News reports Whole Foods confirmed Canadian retail locations would also be seeing the 20% off discount on select items in store.

Whole Foods also says Canadian locations will similarly have deals exclusively for Prime members, who will get an extra 10% off “hundreds of sale items” through stores.

Update April 4, 2019: Whole Foods reached out to say Prime member deals and 10% off in Canada is not available here.

“Whole Foods Market continues to maintain the high quality standards that we’ve championed for nearly 40 years and, with Amazon, we will lower more prices in the future, building on the positive momentum from previous price investments,” said John Mackey, Whole Foods Market co-founder and CEO, in a statement.

Amazon.ca also sells grocery items from Whole Foods, with an ongoing promo offering 10% off if you spend $35 or more.
