Earlier today Apple released iOS 11.4, finally launching AirPlay 2 and Messages in iCloud for their customers, including the same update for its HomePod speaker.
With AirPlay 2, it introduces stereo pairing for two HomePods, plus multi-room audio for AirPlay 2 compatible speakers. Apple updated their website today to list AirPlay 2 compatible speakers and receivers. Most models have been announced but no official timelines have been shared.

So far, we only have HomePod—which is set to launch in Canada on June 18—as the sole speaker on the list which supports AirPlay 2. But with Sonos set to hold an event next week, expect the company to also announce details regarding AirPlay 2 for their One, Play:5 and Playbase speakers. It’s also worth noting the cheapest AirPlay 2 speaker is the Sonos One, priced at $249 CAD.
