Apple CarPlay in iOS 13 gained a significant update since its launch five years ago.

New for CarPlay in iOS 13 was a multi-paned Dashboard, Siri improvements to act like how it works on your iPhone, a redesigned Apple Music interface, improved Apple Maps, a new Light Mode, the addition of Calendar, Do Not Disturb While Driving and more.

How does Apple CarPlay in iOS 13 compare versus Android Auto in October 2019? Toronto-based YouTube channel, TheStraightPipes, shared a video this morning detailing Apple CarPlay versus Android Auto (in a Cadillac XT6), the fifth time both infotainment systems have been compared by the car reviewers.

As usual, Siri searching for a local location ends up being a disaster, bringing up a location in Ohio instead of Quebec, where the comparisons were made. Even when Siri can summon directions with Google Maps, it still brings up the wrong location. Android Auto and Google Maps is able to nail the ‘lighthouse’ search on the first try.

Apple Maps doesn’t have satellite view like Google Maps, as just one gripe (aside from not being able to locate simple locations).

It’s worth noting it is possible to have your Google Calendar within Apple Calendar.

Check out the video below—it’s pretty good and also hilarious to watch:
