Apple Tells Developers App Store Refund Notifications for In-App Purchases Now Possible and More

Gamecenter updates

Apple this morning shared some news updates for developers, bringing new features for existing apps as part of WWDC.

When it comes to the App Store, Apple says refund notifications for all in-app purchases is now possible.

“App Store server notifications now include refund notifications for all types of in-app purchases, including consumables, non-consumables, and non-renewing subscriptions. You can use this information to take action in response, let the user know of any benefit changes, and tell them how to resubscribe,” explains the company.

Game Center updates are also available, offering “a beautifully redesigned in-game dashboard on iOS, tvOS, and macOS.” Apple says achievements, leaderboards, and Game Center profiles can now be displayed right inside a game, when developers turn on the new Access point.

Also new are recurring leaderboards, add achievements, and a challenges feature available in App Store Connect.

Today, Apple says ARKit 4 is now available, offering “even more precise distance information gathered by the LiDAR Scanner on iPad Pro using Depth API, place AR experiences at a specific point in the world with Location Anchors, and more.”

As for Machine Learning, Apple says new tools in Core ML are now available, while Create ML has new temples and APIs such as for Vision and Natural Language. Newly updated model converters and accelerated training support on Mac make it now possible to work with third party training libraries, says Apple.

Apple also informed developers of Teams for Feedback Assistant, allowing them to “now view and respond to feedback filed by your team members if you’re part of an organization in the Apple Developer Program, the Apple Developer Enterprise Program, Apple School Manager, or Apple Business Manager.” Apple says a personal inbox for individual submissions will still remain as an option.
