Apple Files For New Trademarks for Safari & Voice Memos in iOS 7

Patently Apple reports, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple’s latest trademark filings. The filings are for Safari and Voice Memos icons in iOS 7.

The voice memos icon has been changed from a large microphone to sound waves, which looks to stay true to Jony Ive’s flatter look in iOS 7. The Safari icon was also given a flatter design to compliment the rest of iOS 7.

For Voice Memo, Apple filed their trademark under International Class 009 specifically covering “Computer software, for recording, editing, managing, and sharing audio content, for use in connection with handheld mobile digital electronic devices, mobile phones, digital audio and video players, handheld computers, handheld computers, and tablet computers.”

For Safari, Apple filed their trademark under International Class 009 specifically covering “internet browser software and downloadable internet browser software.”

Safari and Voice memos are available in iOS 7 which made its public debut on September 18.
