Apple Has The Most Loyal Customers Among All Smartphone Vendors [Report]

A study conducted by research firm GfK (via Reuters) involving 4,500 smartphone users in different regions of the world has revealed that iPhone owners are the most loyal to their smartphone brand among them all. The report claims that 84% of current iPhone owners plan to purchase another iPhone as their next handset while 60% of Android users and 48% of BlackBerry owners plan to stay loyal. Overall, an average of 63% of consumers are sticking to the type of phone they already have.

“Apple is clearly ahead of the game, but developments next year will challenge that,” GfK analyst Ryan Garner said.

More than 70 percent of consumers said they would stick with their phones due to their seamless integration of features and access to content.

“The scope for brands to lure customers from rivals has diminished and the richest rewards will go to those providers that can create the most harmonious user experience and develop this brand loyalty,” GfK said.

The research firm interviewed customers from Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain,Brazil, China, the United States and Japan.
