Analyst Expects Apple to Launch ‘iPhone 8S’ in Blue, Yellow, and Pink Colours

Based on a recent market research, Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang has claimed that Apple will introduce the ‘iPhone 8S’ with LCD display in multiple colour options, including blue, yellow, and pink, during the second half of this year, in an effort to target the younger consumer market, StreetInsider is reporting.

Zhang notes Apple did this before with the iPhone 5C model, which released various colors. Apple did not have many color offerings for the last several models, he added.

“Since Apple start to launch three new models every year, we believe the company needs to differentiate the designs of the LCD model from the two high end OLED models,” he comments. “One reasonable choice would be to add different colors.”

According to the analyst, Apple may also shift to a three rear camera approach for next year’s big iPhone release. Zhang notes that Apple’s 2019 flagship iPhone might ship with a ToF 3D sensing solution built into its three rear cameras.

While not completely off the wall, the idea is however based on pure speculation rather than any supply chain info. Apple’s approach with the iPhone 5c was quite similar, although it didn’t appear to have been a successful tactic in the case of that particular model. Of course we’ll know only for sure about any iPhone 8s colour options in the coming few months.

Rosenblatt continues to maintain a Buy rating and price target of $180 on AAPL.
