A new set of leaked photos and a video shows what may be the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter for the upcoming ‘iPhone 7’, which has been strongly rumoured to ditch the conventional 3.5mm headphone jack. The alleged adapter’s leaked photos have reportedly been obtained from a Foxconn factory in Vietnam (via MacRumors) and are believed to be of an official Apple accessory, although it seems unlikely.

Looking closely at the leaked photos, one can notice that he Lightning plug does not appear to fit particularly well into its sheath, suggesting that it may either be a damaged or discarded adapter during assembly, or simply a knockoff product. In any case, the adapter does look quite similar to that of Apple’s official adapters, such as the USB-C to USB and Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapters.
