Apple Patent Suggests the iPhone May Soon Automatically Detect Spam Calls

According to a new report from The Verge, a new patent from Apple suggests that the may soon start automatically detecting spam calls for iPhone users.

The patent called “Detection of spoofed call information” says that if the call is not legitimate then the phone could display a warning to users or block the calls directly. Apple details methods that analyze information over the network to identify whether or not a call is legitimate or not.

Apple is not the only company looking at these types of features. At an event earlier this week, Google introduced a call screening feature that uses the Google Assistant to help weed out unwanted spam calls.
