Jim Dalrymple from The Loop was able to get some further information about how Apple retail stores are doing in 2012, from his meeting with Apple this past weekend at the grand opening of the Halifax Apple Store (the Coquitlam Apple Store and Market Mall Apple Store in Calgary also opened):
According to Apple, the company has seen almost 300 million worldwide visitors so far in 2012. To give you some type of comparison, by July 2011, the population of the United States was estimated to be 311 million people.
As for the Genius Bar, Apple noted 50,000 people get serviced around the globe every single day (that works out to 18,250,000 appointments in a year).
Apple’s latest 2012 Q2 earnings noted retail stores churned out $4.4 billion in revenue (a 38% increase from the year ago quarter) and had 85 million visitors. There are now 375 Apple Stores around the globe and this weekend’s openings in Halifax and Coquitlam brings the Canadian total to 25 stores.
Where do you want the next Apple Store in Canada to open up?
