Apple Signs Deal For Exclusive Siegfried and Roy Podcast

Apple has signed a deal to publish a podcast created by the iconic magician and entertainment duo Siegfried and Roy. The deal has been made as Apple continues to push for exclusive and original podcasts for Apple Podcasts.

This news comes by way of MacRumors who reports that the Siegfried & Roy podcast will be an exclusive offering for Apple Podcasts. As Apple discovers new ways to compete with Spotify and its exclusive podcasts, Apple has been inking deals to bring more original content over to its service. Recently, Apple has introduced Apple Podcast Subscriptions, enabling creators to offer premium subscriptions to their content on the platform.

In recent months, Apple has expanded its original content offerings with the likes of ‘The Zane Lowe Interview Series’. Diversifying its content offering, Apple TV+ original series ‘For All Mankind’ also has its own exclusive podcast, adding to the series’ story. Additionally, the true-crime-focused podcast ‘The Line’ was added to Apple’s exclusive portfolio. The podcast will consist of six podcast episodes and a four-part docuseries on Apple TV+.

It’s said that the Siegfried and Roy podcast will only be an audio-only experience. The show will consist of the duo discussing their lineage of work and deconstructing some of their illusions. Many will remember that in 2003, Roy Horn was attacked by a white tiger they commonly performed with on stage. Roy was ultimately permanently injured from the attack, suffering from a stroke. At the time, Roy has often claimed the tiger had been attempting to save his life by dragging him off stage. The podcast is said to unravel the events of that night.
