Alongside the iPhone 5c, the source claims that the mid-2014 version of the 15-inch MacBook Pro will also be added to the list in all countries by the end of this month.
Both devices will, however, remain eligible for service indefinitely at the Genius Bar and Apple Authorized Service Providers, subject to parts availability, thanks to Apple’s updated policy from 2018 that offers extended repairs of select vintage products.
Apple’s vintage products are those which have not been sold for more than 5 years, but less than 7. These continue to receive hardware services from Apple and Apple service providers.
Obsolete products are devices that were discontinued more than seven years ago, and Apple’s website states: “Apple has discontinued all hardware service for obsolete products, with no exceptions. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.”
