Apple Watch AppleCare+, Out of Warranty Replacement Prices Revealed

Alongside Apple Watch pre-orders the company have finally disclosed the AppleCare+ pricing for all models, together with the out-of warranty service pricing. So, if you are willing to pay the price you can get an extra year of hardware repair coverage equaling two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $89, $99 or $1,300 excess fee (depending on the model) plus applicable tax.

AppleCare+ for the Apple Watch Sport will cost $65 (CAD), $89 (CAD) and $2,000 (CAD) for the stainless steel Apple Watch and the gold Edition models, respectively. In line with previous rumours, the latter will receive two years of additional coverage with AppleCare+ — but you’ll need to shell out $2K.

Similarly, AppleCare+ for the Edition model covers up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to a $1,300 excess fee plus applicable tax.

Where things get interesting is the out-of warranty replacement prices: Apple will charge a service fee of $229, $329 and $2,800 for the Sport, Watch and the high-end Edition models, respectively (via MacRumors).

As for battery replacement, Apple says it will charge $79 and another $6.95 for shipping, if applicable.

Late fee: from $35.50 to $60.50 for the Sport, $85.50 to $135.50 for the stainless steel Watch and from $2,600 to $3,600 for the gold Edition models.
