Today, Blizzard Entertainment pulled the curtain back, revealing Warcraft Arclight Rumble. Set in the Warcraft universe, Warcraft Arclight Rumble is the first Warcraft title built from the ground up for a mobile device.

During a live stream, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that Warcraft Arclight Rumble is a “mobile action strategy game.” The studio continues to explain that “collectible Minis come to life to battle in frantic melee skirmishes.”

Warcraft Arclight Rumble is inspired by tower defence games but is better described as a “tower offence game.” It features multiple modes, including the single-player campaign, PvP battles, co-op, and more. Players can take on various dungeons and raids with friends. Maps are inspired by various biomes in Azeroth.

Over 65 Warcraft Minis collectibles are available in the game. Each is inspired by Warcraft factions, heroes, and villains. These Minis can be collected to build armies. There’s a level of ownership players can take when creating their unique armies, customizing different playstyles.

It’s worth noting that Blizzard Entertainment and Activision are being investigated by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing over claims of harassment and “frat-boy culture.” Activision CEO Bobby Kotick is also being investigated by the SEC regarding how he handled internal reports of discrimination and sexual misconduct.

Blizzard Entertainment is also launching Diablo Immortal on mobile and PC next month on June 2. Blizzard has also seen the success of the long-time mobile game Hearthstone.

A closed beta of Warcraft Arclight Rumble will arrive on iOS and Android in limited regions “soon.” Pre-registration is open now on Android.
