BMO Tops Canadian Banks When It Comes to Mobile Sites on Smartphones: Report

According to Forrester, BMO is the country’s top bank when it comes to ranking mobile websites. The conclusion was made in the recent Forrester Banking Sales Wave: Canadian Mobile Sites, Q4 2018 report.

The Forrester report says, “To assess how helpful sites are to customers with smartphones, we evaluated the mobile sites of five large Canadian banks and one digital-only bank.”

Mobile sites were evaluated based on functionality and user experience, and according to BMO, “emerged as a leader, recognized for the bank’s inviting and compelling content and for helping prospects research and open accounts on a smartphone.”

“Customers are increasingly taking a digital-first approach to their finances – including who they decide to bank with – and first impressions matter,” said Brett Pitts, Chief Digital Officer, BMO Financial Group, in a press release.

The bank says it continues to innovate digitally for its customers. Earlier this year the BMO Skill for Alexa launched, along with two new chatbots for Facebook Messenger and Twitter, “to create better customer experiences for digitally-driven customers.”

“We continue to be focused on enhancing our digital capabilities to meet changing consumer preferences. This includes building mobile experiences that are simple, intuitive, and designed to help customers and prospects make financial decisions that are right for them quickly,” added Pitts.

Back in May of this year, BMO finally launched a mobile cheque deposit feature for iPhone users, a feature rivals such as CIBC had in place since 2013.
