BMW Announces Spotify iOS Users Can Now Seamlessly Stream in the Car

BMW has officially announced today Spotify users can now seamlessly stream music in the car, as the latter’s app will now be integrated with ConnectedDrive systems. All iOS users need to do is connect their iPhone to the car’s USB, and Spotify will show up in the multimedia menu and be easily controlled using iDrive.

Spotify updated their iOS app to version 2.0 to bring this support last week:

What’s New in Version 2.0.0
New: We’re friends with BMW ConnectedDrive and MINI Connected vehicles. Connect your iOS device by USB to find Your Music, Browse and Radio in your car’s Multimedia menu.

Starting today, free and premium Spotify iOS users will be able to do the following:

  • Access your own music and playlists or use features like Radio and Browse to find the perfect music for every mood and moment
  • Enjoy an intuitive viewing experience on the car’s high-resolution Control Display
  • Comfortable and safe to use with the iDrive Controller
  • Premium subscribers can enjoy extra high quality on-demand music (320kbps) – which sounds great on the car’s audio system – as well as ad-free and offline listening
