Canadian Apple Stores Sold Out Of iPhone 3GS?

If you’re looking to purchase a 16GB or 32GB iPhone 3GS, or maybe the new unlocked 8GB iPhone 3GS, from your local Apple Store, you may be out of luck.

We have received numerous tips that Canadian Apple Stores have begun to run dry of their iPhone inventory with no sign of when, or if, more stock will arrive. In other words, with the upcoming iPhone 4 launch in Canada, it would seem that Apple has ceased all shipments of iPhone 3GS devices to Canadian Apple Stores.

At this time, there seems to be select carrier locations, such as Rogers, Bell, Telus, and Fido, that have small amounts of (locked) iPhone 3G/3GS inventory left to sell. However, with the iPhone 4 only about 16 days away, it might be better to hold off on signing that 36-month agreement.

Prior to being sold out, the Apple Store normally sells the 16GB/32GB iPhone 3GS in black or white or the new 8GB iPhone 3GS in black only. The 16GB/32GB iPhone 3GS models are available locked on contract or locked if purchased outright at full price. The new 8GB iPhone 3GS is available locked on contract or unlocked if purchased outright at full price.

With Apple Stores running dry of iPhone inventory so early before the rumored July 23 iPhone 4 launch, could we possibly see the iPhone 4 released earlier? July 16, 2010 anyone?
