CES 2022 Organizers Insist the In-Person Event Will be Held, Despite Exhibitors Dropping Out

CES organizers are standing firm in saying that CES 2022 will indeed be held in person in Las Vegas early in the new year. Despite the rapid spikes in the COVID-19 Omicron variant, CES organizers are standing by the January 5-8 date for the show.

On Twitter, the organizers put together a thread outlining its plans to continue hosting the show. “Our focus remains on convening the tech industry and giving those who cannot attend in person the ability to experience the magic of CES digitally,” organizers state in the tweet. However, as the organizers plan to continue supporting an in-person event, exhibitors continue to drop out of having a presence on the show floor.

In the past 24 hours, more and more companies have decided to withdraw themselves from the show floor. Yesterday, it was reported that companies such as Amazon, Meta, and Nvidia have withdrawn. On top of that, Google, Intel, Hisense, and Lenovo have all decided not to have an in-person presence at CES 2022.

Many of the aforementioned companies were listed on the CES 2022 main page on the website. Being large supporters for the show, a significant blow has been made to the overall show. The remaining featured exhibitors include LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Canon, Bosch, TCL, and Philips.

CES 2022 will be abiding by COVID-19 health and safety measures. As the organizers have stated, every attendee will be required to be fully vaccinated and show proof prior to entering the venue in Las Vegas. Masks are also required when inside the venue and on-site COVID-19 testing can be conducted at the event.
