How to Control Your Mac From Apple TV Using Siri Remote [VIDEO]

A cool new app called Remote Buddy Display allows users to wirelessly mirror their Mac’s display onto their Apple TV and control it with Siri remote as well (via MacStories). With the built-in AirPlay Mirroring in OS X, you cannot control your Mac computer but with this app, you can do so using the Siri remote after installing Remote Buddy onto your Mac and launching the Remote Buddy Display app on your Apple TV.

Early testers have reported that the touchpad on the Siri Remote works quite well at moving around your Mac’s cursor. Furthermore, when you press the MENU button on your Siri Remote, the Remote Buddy Display will reveal a panel of key controls which allows you to switch between using the Siri Remote as a remote, cursor, or on-screen keyboard.

You can also bring up Help instructions as well as the ability to trigger “Actions” for popular apps, in addition to power buttons like sleep, shut down, etc and the ability to Logout from the server.

Lean back, connect to your Mac right from your Apple TV and control it with the remote in your hand. Skip the cloud and beam all the photos, presentations, documents and other visual content on your Mac directly onto the big screen.

Turn your Siri Remote into an awesome presentation tool with Mouse Spot. Connect your Apple TV to a projector in your conference room and use it as a shared Mac display and remote control solution for the whole team.

Remote Buddy Display is available as free download in the Apple TV App Store, while Remote Buddy for Mac (30 Day trial) can be purchased for €24.99 (CDN $40).
