Discovery+ Streaming Service Now Available on LG Smart TVs in Canada

Back in October, the Discovery+ streaming service launched in Canada for $4.99 CAD per month with “limited ads”, while an ad-free version is available at $6.99 CAD.

If you’re watching Discovery+, you can now view it on LG smart televisions in Canada, announced the latter on Thursday.

“We are thrilled to add LG Smart TVs to the growing list of platforms that discovery+ is available on in Canada and provide LG customers with direct access to the definitive real life streaming service,” said Gabriel Sauerhoff, SVP, Digital Distribution & Commercial Partnerships, Discovery, Inc., in a statement. “LG has long been a valued partner and as our relationship with them continues to expand, we are very excited to be able to reach more of their customers across the globe.”

The streaming service has over 200 exclusive original series and 60,000 episodes of current shows and classic episodes from the Discovery library, which includes the likes of HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, OWN, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Magnolia Network, while there are over 1,000 episodes subtitled in French.

The Discovery+ app is available on 2018 and newer LG Smart TV models on the webOS platform and can be opened by saying “discovery plus” into the LG Magic Remote.
