Disney+ Coming to Amazon Fire TV on Nov. 12 Launch

When Disney announced its Disney+ streaming service was set to launch on November 12, there was no mention of the service landing on Amazon’s Fire TV devices. But as of today, that has changed.

According to CNBC, Disney CEO, Bob Iger, said a successful test in the Netherlands means the service is ready to go. The comments were made after Disney announced its fourth quarter earnings.

Iger also said Disney+ will make its way to Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV tablets in time for the November 12 streaming launch. Amazon customers will be able to get access to a 7-day trial at launch from their Fire TV devices. We should expect Disney+ support on Fire TV devices in Canada as well at launch.

The Disney CEO also said select Samsung and LG Smart TVs will get Disney+ as well.

Disney+ will have a variety of the company’s original series, movies and future releases on the service, which looks to go head to head with Netflix and more (Apple TV+ has no chance this month, really). The streaming service will also be the exclusive streaming service for the first 30 seasons of The Simpsons.

Disney+ will be available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Roku, Android devices, and Roku devices. The service launches on November 12 and will be available in Canada for $8.99 CAD per month.
