The Disney+ streaming service is set to exclusively debut Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, a new kids game show in 2020.

According to Disney, this new game show is “set in a galaxy far, far away, will test young contestants’ abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight!”

The new show will be hosted by Ahmed Best, in the role of a Jedi Master for young contestants. Best is known as Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars prequels.

“From lightsabers to hyperspace, the Force, and the dark side, Jedi Temple Challenge transports viewers and contestants into the Star Wars galaxy like never before,” is how the show is described.

“This is definitely a kids game show like no other,” says Lucasfilm’s senior director of Online Content & Programming, Mickey Capoferri, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada. “The various challenges will test a Padawan’s connection to the Force in three locations — a forest planet, on board a Jedi star cruiser, and inside a Jedi temple — immersing them and the audience in a fun, humorous, and exciting competition.”

This new game show is being developed by Lucasfilm’s Scott Bromley and Steve Blank with Mickey Capoferri and Christine Beebe as executive producers.

No specific date has been announced for Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, other than it’s coming exclusively to Disney+ in 2020.

Disney+ costs $8.99 CAD per month in Canada, or $89.99 per year and includes a 7-day free trial.
