Donald Trump Wants Tim Cook to Bring Back the iPhone Home Button
President Donald Trump apparently has an iPhone now and this afternoon shared his opinion about new models that used Face ID instead of a physical Home button.
Trump tweeted earlier today, “To Tim: The Button on the IPhone was FAR better than the Swipe!” The American President is referring to Apple CEO, Tim Cook.
Apple introduced Face ID and a buttonless model with the iPhone X in 2017. Later models including the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and this year’s iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max all do not have a Home button, in favour of Face ID, seen as a more secure form of authentication.
Trump’s tweet, as of writing, has garnered 11K retweets and 45.2K ‘Likes’.
Below are recent tweets from Trump, mentioning Apple’s CEO (at least this time he didn’t call him Tim Apple):
Having dinner tonight with Tim Cook of Apple. They will be spending vast sums of money in the U.S. Great!

At a recent round table meeting of business executives, & long after formally introducing Tim Cook of Apple, I quickly referred to Tim + Apple as Tim/Apple as an easy way to save time & words. The Fake News was disparagingly all over this, & it became yet another bad Trump story!

Looking forward to my meeting with Tim Cook of Apple. We will be talking about many things, including how the U.S. has been treated unfairly for many years, by many countries, on trade.

I think it was terrible that Tim Cook of Apple apologized to China. What the hell is he apologizing for? Steve Jobs wouldn’t.

I have a lot of @Apple stock— and I miss Steve Jobs. Tim Cook must immediately increase the size of the screen… http://t.co/Hr29Kd2fCk

Thank you to @tim_cook for agreeing to expand operations in the U.S. and thereby creating thousands of jobs! https://t.co/2zOVxp9nTF

"@ritholtz: My understanding is Tim Cook lies awake most nights worrying about what you think about their latest iPhone." True!
