Apple Rolls Out New HomePod 15 Beta Software Update
Following reports of original HomePods suddenly failing for users who updated their devices to the latest beta software last week, Apple has rolled out a new version of the HomePod 15 beta software designed to work with iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and tvOS 15 (via MacRumors).
It must, however, be noted that since the latest HomePod beta software is distributed on an invite-only basis to select users, there is no direct HomePod 15 software update file that can be downloaded by developers or the general public.
While there are ways to get the new HomePod beta software even if you’re not a part of Apple’s testing group, it is not recommended to use any alternative method to obtain the update.
The new software comes as multiple HomePod owners running the original HomePod 15 beta have complained of sudden failures and heat issues that have rendered their HomePods non-functional.
The release notes for the HomePod 15 update do not offer any information and do not indicate whether the failure issue has been addressed.
The latest HomePod 15 is also a beta software and can still be unreliable, so we’d advise to stay put till the final release.
