Emojipedia Offers First Glimpse at Emoji Candidates in Unicode 12

A new article from Emojipedia details all of the emoji characters that will be launching on Apple devices later this year. The post comes just days before the arrival of Unicode 11 on June 5.

Users can expect Apple to adopt the new Emojis with the expected release of iOS 12 this Fall. Some of the new emojis include Llama, Parrot, Lobster, Hot Face, Cold Face, Softball, Kangaroo, Partying Face, and more. Here is a glimpse of the set of 66 emojis:

Looking ahead, Emojipedia also provided a glimpse at what users can expect from Unicode 12, coming in March 2019. On the short-list for release in 2019 are the two most requested emojis by users this year: the Flamingo and White Heart. In addition, Unicode 12 may potentially include Diving Mask, Axe, Waffle, Diya Lamp, and Hindu Temple.

At this time, it is still unclear which emojis will be included in the final list of the Unicode 12 standard. Apple will most likely adopt Unicode 12 in a late revision of iOS 12 next year, or possibly even iOS 13.
