Apple announced the new MacBook Pro a few weeks ago with a software controlled Touch Bar, which replaces the physical function keys with a dynamic display that shows controls based on context.

A lot of users, especially developers, were quite upset after Apple removed the physical escape key from the laptop. Brian Michael, the owner of New York-based startup Ando, has come up with a create solution to this problem without having to hardwire a physical key to your MacBook.

Michael wrote the code for an iOS application called ESCapey, which basically allows you to use your iOS device as an escape key. When the device is connected to the laptop, the Escape Key will appear on your handheld device.

ESCapey is available as a free download from GitHub.
