Facebook Shop Debuts in Canada, Brings New In-App Shopping Experience

Facebook has today announced the launch of Facebook Shop in Canada, an all-new shopping experience aimed at allowing anyone from an entrepreneur to the largest brand to use Facebook’s apps to connect with their customers.

FB Shops

Facebook Shop is a new tab on the Facebook app for daily shopping inspiration from sellers with shops on Facebook. Merchants already sell on Facebook and Instagram, but now, Facebook Shop gives every business the ability to set up a virtual storefront for free.

A business can create a shop to reach customers across Facebook and Instagram, from which consumers can discover products and brands:

“The Shop browse feed experience will surface multiple products, content and shops from multiple merchants. From Commerce Manager, businesses can curate all new collections of featured products, which are the first thing people will see when they visit a shop. People will be able to discover shops from a Facebook Page or Instagram profile, and by swiping up on an Instagram story.”

Facebook Shop is just one of the many steps the social network says it has taken to support Canadian businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
