Apple is replacing the “slate” colour with a new “space gray” branded colour for the iPhone 5S. If you were wondering what this looks like, here is a video highlighting Apple’s iPod nano “space gray,” which will give you an idea.
After getting his hands on the new iPod nano, Ben Pasternak, a Sydney, Australia–based boy (via AppleInsider) has shot a video of the handset, which is interesting to us for the following reason: it carries the same space gray the iPhone 5S will have.
In the short video shot outside, the device’s colour seems a shade lighter than the previous “slate” option, yet darker than in Apple’s press images.
What is interesting is that the colour is very dark, according to Pasternak. He also highlights that in certain lighting conditions the gray becomes lighter, but not shiny, while in other instances it takes on a purple tint. But since it carries an anodized matte finish, it isn’t shiny.
The iPhone 5s is set to be available on September 20, when you can either order it online via Apple’s online store, or walk into a store in the morning.
