Hon Hai Precision a.k.a Foxconn, Apple’s largest supplier of iPhone, iPod and iPad devices, as well as TSMC, the world’s leading contract chip maker, are both looking to hire 5,000 new workers each in order to meet the technology industry’s fast growing demand, reports Reuters. Both companies posted the recruitment notices today at an event designed for graduating Taiwan university students.
The news was published initially by local news paper The Economic Daily, who added that Hon Hai’s planned hiring is the biggest of its kind in recent years.
Most of the headcount for Hon Hai, the main manufacturer of Apple’s products, will be in research and development for automated production, e-commerce and robots, while TSMC is mostly recruiting equipment managers, it said.
Representatives for both firms have not yet issued any official comment.
