Google Photos Update Brings Animations for Videos and More

Google Photos has today been updated to include a bunch of handy new features, including new ways to relive and share your favourite moments, as well as a quick fix for sideways photos in your collection. The update lets you rediscover old memories of the people in your most recent photos, making it easier to look back at your best moments. Furthermore, it is now easier to look over the most recent highlights from your photos.

The main highlight of today’s Google Photos update however remains the much awaited video animations feature. Previously, the Google Photos app could make animations from your photos, but it couldn’t do a similar thing for your videos. Starting today, the app will let you create short animations from your videos that can be easily shared as well. 

“We look for segments that capture activity — a jump into the pool, or even just an adorable smile — and create short animations that are easy to share”, says Google on its blog.

Another handy feature added in Google Photos is the ability to quickly find sideways pictures in your collection. You’ll get a card that helps you easily put them right side up. You can grab the free update for iOS using the following App Store link:
