Google Photos Updated with Smart Themed Movies and Faster Sharing

Google Photos already creates movies from the photos you have taken, however they don’t really have a personal touch to them.

Today, Google is rolling out an update to the app that introduces smart themed movies. The service now looks through your entire photo collection and creates clips based around concepts, such as a young child who is growing up. Only a few concepts will popup this week, but there are more “coming soon.”

On top of that, it’s now quicker to share photos and videos with friends and family. There is a new in-app share sheet on iOS and Android that focuses on people, rather than third-party apps.

To share a photo or video, choose it from your collection and choose the recipient. It’s really that easy! The user you have decided to share the content with will get a notification from the app telling them that you have shared a photo or video with them.

Google Photos is available as a free download from the App Store. The app requires any device running iOS 8.1 or later. The update to the Google Photos app will begin rolling out today to iOS, Android and web users.
