Google Will Begin Rolling Out Fix for Home-Related Wi-Fi Issues

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a number of bugs plaguing Google’s most recent hardware offerings of their Home and Chromecast lines.

Google acknowledged the issue earlier this week saying that there is a bug in the Cast software that may slow down or temporarily shut down Wi-Fi networks. The impact of the issue varies greatly depending on the router.

According to a new report from TechCrunch, Google has an update ready for the issue and they are planning to start rolling it out to devices tomorrow via the Google Play Store.

Initial reports appeared to center around TP-Link’s popular line of routers, however, the issue appears to impact other router brands including Linksys and Netgear. The bug appears to be affecting a number of Google-branded hardware devices like the Pixel 2, Home Mini, Home Max, and Pixel Buds.
