With the introduction of iTunes 11, Apple decided to remove the Power Search link from iTunes’ page footers, which allowed users to search specific types of content and enter search terms in appropriate fields, such as Artist for music, Author for books, Actor for movies etc. It seems however, there’s still a way to get to the hidden Power Search in iTunes 11 (via The Loop).
To access the hidden feature, click this link. This will first open your default browser, which redirects the link to the iTunes app and then the Power Search interface in the iTunes Store.
“As you can see above, when searching for movies, you can limit your searches by Movie Title, Actor, Year, Genre, Rating, and even search only for movies available to rent, or with closed captioning. With music, you can search by Artist, Composer, Song, Album and Genre.”
We’re not sure how long this interface will be around but if you missed the feature, you can try the iTunes Power Search right now.
