How to Listen to Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas Day Speech on Alexa

Last year, Her Majesty The Queen’s Christmas Day speech was broadcast live over Alexa, in addition to TV and radio.

This year’s message will also be made available to Alexa device users in Canada on Christmas Day at 7 a.m. PST (3 p.m GMT), Amazon told iPhone in Canada in an email.

To listen to Her Majesty’s speech, simply ask Alexa:

  • “Alexa, play The Queen’s Christmas Day Message”
  • “Alexa, play Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas Day Message”

Once you say those magic words, Alexa will start playing the official recording of The Queen’s annual festive address, in full.

Amazon says this year’s Christmas Day speech from Queen Elizabeth will be available on Alexa devices across the Commonwealth and beyond. The audio recording will be available on all Amazon Alexa-enabled devices that have their language set to eng_UK, eng_US, eng_AU, eng_CA and eng_IN.

Compatible devices include the Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Dot, Echo Show, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV Stick, the 4K Max version of which launched in Canada just a couple of months ago.

Alexa is really getting into the holiday spirit, with Santa Claus himself making a special cameo as a celebrity voice for the personal assistant.
