Apple says that AirPods 1, AirPods 2, and AirPods Pro have low repairability due to the size and manufacturing process. As a result, the company has set up a replacement policy instead of repairs when it comes to AirPods after-sales.
Even though there is a large number of users experiencing reduced battery life with their AirPods over time, they are unable to get the issue fixed once their earbuds are no longer covered by Apple’s warranty.
