How to Stream Kanye West’s ‘Donda 2’ on Apple Music and Spotify? It Won’t Be Possible

Kanye West…err…I mean ‘Ye’, announced on Thursday his upcoming album, ‘Donda 2’, will only be available to stream on his own platform stemplayer.com, which is selling a device to let people stream the new album.

This means ‘Donda 2’ won’t be available on Apple Music, Spotify and other major streaming music services, meaning West’s album won’t have exposure to hundreds of millions of listeners.

“Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player,” explained West. “Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own. Go to stemplayer.com now to order,” said West on Instagram, showing off a picture of a Stem Player device.

The Stem Player website will allow users to “customize any song” and it ships with Donda, plus will let users “split any song into stems”. The device connects to your computer via USB to let you upload songs, instead of Bluetooth.

Stem Player costs $200 USD and is available in Canada, the US, UK, EU, Australia and New Zealand. “Products shipped to all regions outside the US and UK will be charged local import fees by the shipping carrier,” explains the website.

Below is an actual picture of the Stem Player, as tested by The Verge.

“It worked well in our testing, allowing owners to easily manipulate different parts of a song while listening, whether for one of the included tracks or any others loaded via its web-based interface,” said The Verge.

‘Donda 2’ is set to release on February 22, 2022.

Gosh, I sure miss the days of Kanye from the College Dropout.
