iBooks Now Available For iPhone 3G/3GS & iPod touch 2G/3G

When the iPad launched, one of the killer apps was iBooks and the accompanying iBookstore. Today, with the release of iOS4 for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2G, and iPod touch 3G, Apple has released iBooks (and the iBookstore) for those devices.

The current version is iBooks 1.1, making iBooks a universal app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The iBooks update also delivered over-the-air syncing of bookmarks and notes for books across a user’s devices. For example, if you bought a book on your iPad, the notes/bookmarks would be synced on that same book on your iPhone.

iBooks for iPhone also features PDF support, which allows users to store and view their PDF documents from the iBooks app. iBooks also delivers a new Georgia font, sepia or white colored pages, a left-justified option, and an increase in font size options.

To get iBooks, you must have an iPhone 3G/3GS or iPod touch 2G/3G and must be running the latest operating system, iOS4. To download iOS4, use check for update in iTunes or check out this post here! Unfortunately for the iBookstore, purchases are not yet available in Canada, but hopefully iBookstore purchases are coming soon.
