Apple Has Released iOS 12.3 and More for Download [u]

Apple has just released iOS 12.3 for download, after releasing both beta 5 and beta 6 last week for developers and public beta testers. The quick turnaround time for beta releases suggested a final release was imminent and here it is.

The release of iOS 12.3 brings Apple’s revamped TV app, set to support Apple TV+ this fall. Also new in this release is AirPlay 2 support for compatible televisions. Today also sees the release of tvOS 12.3 for Apple TV 4/4K, debuting the revamped TV app.

2019 Samsung smart TVs and select 2018 models will get the iTunes app and the new TV app. Apple says AirPlay 2-enabled Samsung TVs “can effortlessly play videos and other content from their iPhone, iPad or Mac directly to their smart TVs. Customers must update to iOS 12.3 or macOS 10.14.5 to play or mirror to AirPlay 2-enabled smart TVs.”

Apple says VIZIO, LG and Sony smart TVs will be able to get AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support later this year.

You can update your iOS device by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If you’re not seeing the release yet, it should show up shortly.

Apple says iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 are now available for customers in over 100 countries.
