To see how the initial release of iOS 12 beta fares on older iPhones, YouTube channel EverythingApplePro filmed a speed test comparing the latest release to iOS 11.4, on the iPhone 5S, iPhone SE, iPhone 6/6S, iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
iOS 11.4 was the winner when it came to boot up tests, but overall, iOS 12 appears to be slightly faster in the video tests, but the changes are marginal at best. But the fact iOS 12 isn’t slower by any means for older devices such as the iPhone 5S is good news, and as newer betas are released, performance should improve.
