New ‘iPhone 12’ dummy unit images have leaked, as shared by 9to5Mac (via HaAppelistim) which show the upcoming smartphones inside phone cases.

The new design of Apple’s iPhone 12 line up is expected to resemble the flat edges of the iconic iPhone 4, and the images we see today reflect that.

Apple is rumoured to debut iPhone 12 models with 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch displays, while iPhone 12 Pro Max models are said to include 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays.

The image above shows how this iPhone 12 flat-edge design compares versus the current iPhone 11 Pro Max. Rounded corners look to go bye-bye in favour of curved corners and flat edges.

We don’t see many other details, aside from more of these dummy units inside cases. Most case makers get dimensions for upcoming iPhone models ahead of time to allow for case prep. Of course, these dimensions eventually leak onto the internet.

While the flat-edge designs of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 looked great, they were uncomfortable to hold in the hand for some users, compared to today’s current rounded edge iPhones.

Apple is rumoured to launch its iPhone 12 line up during the week of October 12, claims leaker Jon Prosser. The company acknowledged during its Q2 earnings call the iPhone 12 launch would be delayed by a “few weeks”, due to coronavirus.
