According to a recent support document published by Apple, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus users do not need one of Apple’s USB-C power adapters to utilize the fast charging capabilities of the new device.
The company said that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus can be fast charged with any USB-C power adapter that supports the USB Power Delivery specification. However, Apple says that an official USB-C to Lightning cable is still needed to make this work.
Unfortunately, this cable is not included with your iPhone. For a one meter cable, Apple charges $35 and $49 for a two meter cable in Canada.
Fast charging on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus enables you to regain 50 percent battery life within 30 minutes.
